American Idol Sweet 16- Girls

Jordin Sparks is first. She sung "Heartbreaker". I don't think this was her song. I gave her a 3.
Randy says it was hot, although it wasn't her best performance. Paula says she was getting better and better. Simon says it was a bit manic and shrieky, but is quite sure she'll be in the Top 12. Her final semifinal score: 20.

Second is Sabrina Sloan. She sings "Love Making". I gave her another 10, making her the only one at this stage so far to get the maximum 30 points! Randy says it wasn't really her best performance, but still did her thing. Paula said she can sing. Simon says she is a great singer, but lacks emotion in comparison to the other female singers. He also called the performance similar to one's performance at a local hotel.

Third is Antonella Barba, who sings "Put Your Records On" by Corinne Bailey Rae. I didn't think she was that bad here- I gave her a 7. But with only a total score of 14 and the bad publicity she's been getting as of late, it may be too little, too late. Randy says it was a good song choice, but thought it was a little pitchy. Paula says she needs to work on her bottom notes. Simon says she may have gotten as far as she could.

Fourth is Haley Scarnato, who sings "I Will Fly To You". I gave her a 7. Randy says the song choice was her style, but had no enthusiasm to show for it. Simon thought it was horrible, and she doesn't know her name. Final semifinal score: 25.

Fifth is Stephanie Edwards. She was OK, but nothing special. I gave her a 6, for a final semifinal score of 15. Randy says she gave a lot of effort, but it was pitchy. Paula thought she was near flawless, although she slightly fell behind. Simon says she was one of the best singers in the competition, and thought she did enough to go to the Top 12.

Sixth is LaKisha Jones, who sings "I Don't Want to Hurt Anyone". I gave her a 10, for a final semifinal score of 29! Randy says it was another great performance. Simon says she looked like a star.

Seventh is Gina Glocksen. She sings "Call Me When You're Sober" by Evanescence. Started strong, but went downhill towards the end. I gave her an 8, for a final semifinal score of 25. Randy thought the real her came through on the stage. Paula says she oversang the song a bit. Simon says she knew who she was after that performance, and thought she should be in the Top 12.

Final one is Melinda Doolittle. She sings "Woman". I think this song was too fast for her, and I don't think she was as good as she was in the past. I gave her a 6, for a final total score of 25. Randy says it was the hottest performance of the night. Simon thought she was enjoying every second she was on the stage.

Remember, the Top 12, and the huge announcement, will be revealed tomorrow.
