"The Amazing Race XII" 1/6

Remember, the final four teams are TK Erwin and Rachel Rosales (winners of the last leg), Nicolas Fulks and Donald Jerousek, Christina and Ronald Hsu and Nathan Hagstrom and Jennifer Parker.

Clue #1: Teams had to travel by plane almost 4,000 miles to Osaka, Japan. They had to get to some sort of Japanese castle to get their second clue.

Clue #2: Teams then had to travel by taxi to JR Noda Station, where a cleaning man was awaiting. They would get their third clue from him, likely a Detour or Roadblock.

At this point, Hagstrom and Parker led. Remember, they haven't won anything yet. Meanwhile, Erwin and Rosales were last.

ROADBLOCK: One member from each team had to drive Japanese couples via a taxi to what seemed to be a bike station. Team members couldn't get help from anybody, including the passengers. Once completed, those who tried the Roadblock would get their fourth clue, but they weren't allowed to open it until they rejoined their partners.

Here were the drivers:
Jennifer
Christina
Nicolas

Before they drove off, Parker talked to some local people about the map she was given. I think she broke the rules for this Roadblock, so if I'm right, a penalty awaits her team at the next Pit Stop. In the meantime, despite getting a bit lost, she completed it first.

Clue #4: Teams traveled by taxi to Kita-Mido Temple, where the next clue was found.

Meanwhile, Erwin and Rosales were in big-time trouble, as they STILL hadn't even made it to Osaka! They'd better hope this was the other non-elimination stage.

DETOUR: Sense of Touch or Smell?

Sense of Touch: Teams had to run on foot to the Shimo-Jima building, where they controlled two robots in a game of robot soccer. Both members of a team had to score a goal in order to get their last clue.

Sense of Smell: Teams had to go to a flower shop, where only artificial flowers are sold. Using only their noses, teams had to find one flower that was real. Once they found it, they got their final clue.

The all-male team tried the robots, while the other teams tried the flowers. Parker smelled a real flower on the second floor and redeemed it to the official at the bottom floor to get their final Pit Stop clue! But don't forget about a possible penalty...

PIT STOP: Teams had to get to Tempozan Park. One team may be eliminated.

The winners were.....

....the Hsus, meaning Parker and Hagstrom STILL haven't won anything! For the Hsus, they each won an electric vehicle. They finished second, and as it turned out, I was wrong- no penalty.

The men were third, so Erwin and Rosales hoped for the best.....

...and it was indeed a non-elimination stage, so they're still alive! The three final teams will be determined real soon, possibly on next week's show.
