TPIR: We begin today with Brad Cardwell, Kasey Moffitt, Emily Hornbecker and Beatriz Douczak. The first IUFB is an off-road vehicle.

Beatriz: $1,200
Emily: $1,980
Kasey: $2,500
Brad: $2,600

ARP: $2,199

Emily Hornbecker from Cincinnati but originally from Michigan, plays Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeze Play for a GEM car. Board:

79195

I think it's $7,995 and she agrees...

$ 7 9 9 5

...sure enough, she wins!

David Brody then leaves the crowd next and the second IUFB is cookware.

David: $623
Kasey: $825
Brad: $500
Beatriz: $1,200

ARP: $890

Kasey plays 3 Strikes for a Cadillac CTS (Loaded)! The numbers in the price are 0, 4, 5, 6 and 7. She first draws the 7 and says the third digit...nope. Second, she draws the 6 and tries the third spot again...this time, she's right.

$ _ _, 6 _ _

I think I know what the price is now. Her third draw is 4 and she places that as the first number.

$ 4 _ , 6 _ _

Fourth, she draws 0 and places that as the second number...NO! She then draws lucky 7 again and says the second number...NO. She then draws the 5 and places that as the second number.

$ 4 5 , 6 _ _

When that 6 popped up, I thought the car was $40,657. So much for what I know. She gets her first strike...then she pulls the 7 and places that as the fourth number...one away!

$ 4 5 , 6 7 _

Does she get that 0 in two chances...

...YES on the first try for the $45,670 Cadillac!

Next, we have Shannon Branch (who runs the wrong way at the start) and the third IUFB is a free-standing waterfall.

Shannon: $1,200
Brad: $927
Beatriz: $1,202
David: $1,203

ARP: $1,000

Brad Cardwell plays Clock Game for a $1,000 check plus a pair of surfboards and a desk/hutch. The ARP of the surfboards was $838, and he starts with $1,400, then $1,300, $1,200, $1,000, $900, $800, $850, $750, $760, $780, $790, $800, $810, $820, $830, $840, $835 and one ups from there. He made a mistake by going below $800 after he said $850. He has 11.5 seconds to get the price of the furniture, which was $849. He begins this time with $900, then $800, $850, $826, $830, $840, $845, $850, $848...and then $849 for the win with just a second to spare! Decent playing!

SHOWCASE SHOWDOWN #1:
David ($3,687): Nickel + 50 = $.55
Emily ($7,995): Nickel + 65 = $.70
Kasey ($46,560): 15 + 40 = $.55

Emily is off to the Showcase.

Our next contestant is Sabrina Walker and the fourth IUFB is a laptop.

Sabrina: $895
Beatriz: $999
David: $1,400
Shannon: $1,499

ARP: $1,499, so that last bid gives Shannon Branch a $500 bonus!

Shannon then plays Freeze Frame (second time in three days this game has been played) for a digital piano. I say $4,995 but she says $7,738...I'm right and she's not.

Next player is Carmela Harper and the fifth IUFB is a loveseat. The winner also gets $40 worth of Gold Bond Cream.

Carmela: $625
Sabrina: $1,195
Beatriz: $950
David: $1,126

ARP: $1,029

Beatriz, a dental assistant in the state of Florida, tries to hit the Bullseye for a trip to Amsterdam worth $9,016. Products today are the big container of Oreos, Oxi Clean spray, cajun injector, crescents and soup. Her first purchase is four Oreo packages, each one of which is $3.89...too much at $15.56. Second is two crescent tubes, each one of which is $2.39, for a total of $4.78. Her last purchase is a pair of cajun injectors, each one of which is $5.99, for the win at $11.98!

The last one to leave the audience is David Libratore from the U.S. Navy and the final IUFB is a refrigerator/freezer. The winner also gets $40 worth of banana nut muffins and tries to be the second car winner of the day.

Libratore: $2,400
Brody: $2,036
Carmela: $2,500
Sabrina: BUCK

ARP: $2,198

David Brody plays Master Key for a Dodge Caliber plus a floor clock and dinnerware. The first SP is a Grillmaster electronic device, which is either $12 or $25 and he says $25...right to choose key #4. The other SP is an electronic toothbrush that's either $15 or $57 and he says $15...oops. Key #4 opens...EVERYTHING, BECAUSE THAT'S THE MASTER KEY!

Shannon thankfully doesn't get to the Showcase; instead, it's Beatriz with 95 cents!

I think either a boat or a trailer is on offer in the featured Showcase of the day. The first Showcase has a bedroom, a security system and a spa. Emily passes to Beatriz.

BEATRIZ BIDS $14,550 ON ROOM/SPA SHOWCASE

For Emily, we have rejected prizes. First, we have a scary body-strengthening machine, which gets exchanged for a new home gym. Second on the list is what looks to be a Birdman costume in order to fly off very high places; instead, we offer you a chance to fly to sunny Acapulco. Finally, we reveal a picture of a submarine- that'll totally bust this show's budget. A much more budget-friendly prize is something that's also for the water- a Reinell 18" ski boat!

EMILY BIDS $20,100 ON TRIP/BOAT SHOWCASE

BEATRIZ'S SHOWCASE:
BID: $14,550
ARP: $16,715
DIFFERENCE: $2,165

EMILY'S SHOWCASE:
BID: $20,100
ARP: $23,859
DIFFERENCE $3,759- LOSE

Beatriz wins her Showcase and $26,800 in prizes! Emily leaves with $10,194 in stuff.

WOF: We start with a shout out from Gina Tognoni of the CBS soap opera "Guiding Light". Our players tonight are Amiee Martinez from Massachusetts (who is a 3rd Grade teacher), Donna Abbott from S.F. (who is an insurance broker), and tonight's male contestant, Rob Hughes from L.A. (who is a tutor for young students).

Martinez knows we're on THE STARTING LINE for $1,000 and then WINDOW AIR CONDITIONER for the full $3,000 (Abbott rung in first but took too long, only saying WINDOW before time ran out).

Round 1 category is Phrase and out on the wheel now is a trip to Jamaica sponsored by Johnson's worth $7,000. And it's a big puzzle, too. At the start, Martinez calls the T's for the ten grand, but she loses it just as quick to a Bankrupt. After Abbott buys the A's, we have...

_ _ E A _ _ A _ T/I _/THE/_ _ _ T/

I _ _ _ _ T A N T/_ E A _/_ _/THE/_ A _

...I know this, but I'm afraid somebody will mess this one up. She calls the M's for $900, a $300 L, a pair of F's for another $1,800, and then buys the O's. But she then calls a dud in C to miss out on the Wild Card. Rob calls the S's for $1,800, the R's for another $1,800, and he solves BREAKFAST IS THE MOST MEAL OF THE DAY for $3,600 and an early lead of $600.

Eggland's Best Jackpot Round category is Fun & Games. At the start, Abbott calls a pair of S's for $600 and the Free Spin. She later calls a dud in P and opts not to use it at that point. Later on, she uses it after hitting a Bankrupt, but she calls a dud in W. When Martinez calls the L's, we have...

S U M M E R

S _ _ T _ _ L L

L E _ _ U E

...she calls a $450 G and solves SUMMER SOFTBALL LEAGUE for another $2,250 and $5,250 total, taking the lead back for now.

ActivOn Big Money/Prize Puzzle Round category is People. At the start, Rob calls a pair of R's for the trip to Jamaica. When Martinez calls the T's for $10,500, we have...

_ _ R S T - T _ _ _

_ _ S _ T _ R S

...I've got it. She buys the E but calls a dud in W. Abbott calls a $7,500 M while on the Big Money Spot and buys the I's, then calls the F for the Wild Card, buys the O and solves FIRST-TIME VISITORS to get on the board in a big way with $7,000 and a trip to Lisbon, Portugal, a total of 12 grand in cash and trip.

WINNING ID FOR TRIP: TM5192789

Martinez then solves FACTORY TOUR to go to $8,250. Next category is Fictional Characters. After Abbott calls the N's, we have...

_ _ _ S/_ _ N N _/&/

_ _ _ _ _/_ _ _ _

...I think I've got it already. She then buys the E, which I thought was a dud...but there are two of them, meaning the second name on the board isn't DAFFY DUCK. Now I know what this is. She then calls a $400 Y but buys a dud vowel in A. Rob then calls a $600 R but we now go to Speed-Up Mode. The remaining consonants are worth $1,450 apiece. He then calls the F but has nothing. Martinez calls the L but also blanks out. Abbott calls the B's and solves BUGS BUNNY & ELMER FUDD to wrap up the championship with $15,400 in cash and trip! Martinez has $8,250 and Rob leaves with $3,600.

Tonight's cars are a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and an Audi TT Roadster. She spins the last zero and the category is Thing. Beginning with:

_ _ _ _ N _

_ _ S _

Abbett starts off with H, D, M and I. Her final consonant pick via the Wild Card is C. We get...

D I _ I N _

M _ S _

...she JUST MISSES IT with DINING MASK. It was DIVING MASK and she doesn't win another $30,000. Boy, I got worried- I thought for sure $100,000 was coming up tonight.

The Moment of Truth: Coming into the big chair tonight is Kristina Paulino from Chicago (who is a flight attendant). Not sure if she's related to former "$ale of the Century" champ Elaine Paulino. Anyway, her Peanut Gallery tonight consists of John (father), Robin (sister) and Joseph (a friend).

Would you be happy to marry a man who is just like your father?

I would say YES. Her response, however is NO. And by saying NO...

...she's the latest $100,000 winner!

Jeopardy!: Chris Vestuto will try to add on to his $14,000 when he defends his title against Lisa Boles (a multimedia producer from Massachusetts) and Alonzo Alexander (a teacher orignally from somewhere in North Carolina). Here are the first set of categories:

HISTORIC WOMEN
"SNL" ON FILM
CLASSIC ADS & JINGLES
AT THE HOSPITAL
MUSEUMS
"OUT" IS IN

Vestuto goes Daily Double Hunting right off the bat in Historic Women, starting with the $1,000 clue. The Daily Double's in that category, but it's under the $800 clue, and he doesn't find it- instead, it's Alexander who finds it with $1,600 thus far. The champ has $400 and Boles has $200. His wager is $1,000:

This 19th century woman boasted, "I never ran my train off the track and I never lost a passenger".

"Who was Harriet Tubman?"...that's the lady to go to $2,600! At the first break, he's at $5,600 while the champ has $1,800 and Boles has $800. After the round ends, did Alexander increase his lead or lose a chunk of it as Vestuto did yesterday?...

Chris: $4,800
Alonzo: $8,600
Lisa: $2,200

...well, he lost some of the lead, but he kept most of the first-break lead than Vestuto did the last time.

LACH TRASH FOR ROUND 1: $1,600

DJ! Categories:

WORLD GEOGRAPHY
REVIVALS
SUE GRAFTON'S ALPHABET MYSTERIES
THE "IZ" HAVE IT
MAGAZINES
POTPOURRI

Early on, Alexander gets everything but the $800 Alphabet Mysteries clue to jump to 17 grand! He then gets the first four Potpourri clues right to go for a sweep of the category with this $2,000 clue, with 21 grand in his bank already:

This famous 19th Century clipper ship shares its name with a brand of scotch.

Chris: "What is a Cutty Sark?"- NO SWEEP FOR ALONZO ($7,200)

At this point, Boles has $2,600. Both Daily Doubles are still in play, and the three categories remaining at the halfway mark are Revivals (sans the $400 clue), "The IZ" Have It and Magazines. The champ's next pick is the $400 Magazines clue:

"Goings On About Town" and "The Talk of the Town" are regular features of this magazine.

Chris: "What is the New Yorker?"- RIGHT ($7,600); $800 MAGAZINES CLUE

Henry Luce helped create these two magazines, in 1923 and 1936.

Chris: "What is Time and Life?"- RIGHT AGAIN ($8,400); $1,200, SAME CATEGORY

This hip-hop music magazine was founded by Quincy Jones.

Alonzo: "What is Vibe?"- CORRECT ($22,200); $1,600, SAME SUBJECT

The magazine is a mix of lifestyles and sexy stuff; this cocktail is a mix of lime and cranberry juices, vodka and cointreau.

Chris: "What is a Cosmopolitan?"- CORRECT ($10,000); FINAL MAGAZINES CLUE

Its first issue, in 1845, included "A smoke filter for locomotives" and the "Cause of sound and thunder".

Chris: "What is the Scientific American?"- RIGHT AGAIN ($12,000); $400 CLUE IN "IZ"

To turn a novel into a stage play.

Lisa: "What is to dramatize?"- CORRECT ($3,000); $800 CLUE IN REVIVALS

Carol Channing let Pearl Bailey play this part in two Broadway revivals but returned in 1995.

Chris: "Who is Dolly?"- YES ($12,800); $800 "IZ" CLUE, TOLD BY SARAH:

After doing this to a needle by rubbing it fifty times on both ends, when movement stops, it should always point north and south.

Chris: "What is magnetize?"- RIGHT AGAIN ($13,600); MIDDLE "IZ" CLUE

In countries where this type of salt is used, goiter virtually disappears.

Chris: "What is iodized?"- RIGHT AGAIN ($14,800); $1,600, SAME CATEGORY

We feared the epidemic would spread, but now we've done this, restricted it to one area.

TRIPLE STUMPER: Localized

The champ then picks the first Daily Double under the last "IZ" clue! His wager is two large:

This word, coined about fifteen years before "hypnotize", is now used as a synonym.

"What is mesmerize?"...is right to go to $16,800! His next stop is the $1,200 Revivals clue.

OTHER DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIILLLLLLLYYY DOUBLE! His wager is $2,000 again:

In 2002, Gingham and lots of corn were part of the theme of the opening-night party for this musical revival.

"What is Oklahoma?"...Jim Ross will be proud of you man, because that's right to go to $18,800! For $1,600:

This 1945 Rodgers & Hammerstein show came "around" again to win the first Tony for Best Musical Revival, in 1994.

Chris: "What is Carousel?"- RIGHT AGAIN ($20,400)

FINAL CLUE OF THE ROUND:

William Dafoe was this Simian title character in a 1997 revival of an O'Neill drama.

Lisa: "What is the Hairy Ape?"- RIGHT ($5,000)

LACH TRASH FOR ROUND 2: $3,600

SCORES AFTER DOUBLE JEOPARDY!:
Chris: $20,400
Alonzo: $22,200
Lisa: $5,000

CORYAT SCORES:
Chris: $19,600
Alonzo: $22,000
Lisa: $5,000

We could have a $40K+ winner tonight if things go well in FJ!

FJ! CATEGORY: Business.

In 1951, this company whose origins date back to 1876 became the first U.S. company to have one million shareholders.

LISA:
Response: "What is General Electric?"
Wager: $3,900
Final score: $100

We now go to the champ, who wrote down the same thing, and he lost ten grand, meaning he's now at $10,400. Alexander also wrote down the same response. Correct: What is AT&T? That means no $40,000 payoff for him...

...and with a loss of $18,601, no championship for him either. That means Vestuto retains the title, and now has a two-day total of $24,400.
