Catch 21: The Episode #19 players are:

Ian: House inspector
Galina (San Diego)- Massage therapist
Jefferson (originally from South Carolina)- Real esate agent

OPENING CARDS IN ROUND 1:

IAN: 10 OF HEARTS
GALINA: JACK OF SPADES
JEFFERSON: KING OF HEARTS

This round starts on an even playing field. After three questions, Jefferson finally gets another face card (Queen of Diamonds) in order to freeze at 20; he also got all of those questions right for at least 300 points when this round is over. The other hands right now:

IAN: (10H)(5C) = 15
GALINA: (JS)(4H) = 14

Fourth question:

What is Van Cleef and Arpels?

IAN: Jewelry store- CORRECT (100)

CARD: 5 OF HEARTS; PASSES TO GALINA (19)

Fifth question:

In a Glamour magazine survey, 65% of respondents reacted favorably to women taking what type of class?

A: Kickboxing
B: Massage therapy
C: Pole dancing

IAN: Pole dancing- RIGHT AGAIN (200)

CARD: 2 OF HEARTS (17)

Sixth question:

What Oscar winner said she's not excited about getting pregnant because "...I don't really want to look like a whale, you know"?

IAN: Charlize Theron- RIGHT AGAIN (300)

CARD: 10 OF CLUBS, BUSTING GALINA

IAN:
CARD #7: 4 OF CLUBS- WIN (800)

ROUND 2 BASE CARDS:

IAN: 8 OF CLUBS
GALINA: KING OF HEARTS
JEFFERSON: ACE OF SPADES

Galina then immediately gets a Jack of Clubs and freezes at 20. If it holds up, she has a chance of making it to the final round. On the second turn, Jefferson makes the questionable move of passing a 3 of Clubs to Ian, because that gives him 11. But Jefferson gets the next question right and gets the King of Spades to move on to the Championship Round (and letting himself off the hook in the process) with Ian.

CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND OPENING CARDS:

IAN: 6 OF CLUBS
JEFFERSON: 10 OF DIAMONDS

After two questions, the hands now look like this:

IAN: (6C)(AD) = 7 or 17
JEFFERSON: (10D)(2C) = 12

Third question:

Hearing a call that can be made from hundreds of miles, what animal is said to be the loudest on Earth?

IAN: Blue whale- RIGHT

A 10/face card wins him the game.

CARD: 8 OF HEARTS; KEEPS IT (15)

Fourth question:

This year, a JetBlue passenger sued the airline, claiming the pilot forced him to give up his seat and sit where?

IAN: On a toilet- RIGHT AGAIN

He now needs a 6 or a 10/face card to win.

CARD: 7 OF HEARTS, WHICH IS PASSED TO JEFFERSON (19)

Fifth question:

What appears to the right of Alexander Hamilton's portrait on the redesigned $10 bill?

A: Eagle
B: Statue of Liberty Torch
C: Mrs. Hamilton

IAN: Eagle- INCORRECT
JEFFERSON: Statue of Liberty Torch- RIGHT; GOES ON

If this next card is a 2 or anything higher than a 6, Jefferson wins the title; otherwise, we keep playing.

CARD: 5 OF SPADES, WHICH IS PASSED TO IAN (20)

This next question will likely decide who wins and who loses.

What creature can lose as many as 30,000 teeth in its lifetime?

IAN: Shark- RIGHT; GOES ON

If this next card is anything but a deuce, Ian's the champ; if it is a deuce, Jefferson wins.

FINAL CARD: 3 OF DIAMONDS- WIN!
