Remember, Thursday's episode was the first episode taped in 2009; therefore, the new video monitor located in the back of the audience was now in place.
Starting things off were Edward McGovern, Alison Evans, Gregory Braden & Marissa Semler. The first IUFB was a washer/dryer (Brandi & Lanisha).
Marissa played the Grand Game with a target price of $5.50. Products today were Ester-C, Campbell's Soup, Gold Bond Lotion (regular kind), Hot Pockets (regular flavor), NesQuik and Aveeno Foaming Cleanser.
1. Soup- $1.53 ($10)
2. NesQuik- $1.69 ($100)
3. Hot Pockets- $2.49 ($1,000)
Her last pick was the lotion...$4.79 for $10,000! Grand Game's now 3-1 in its last four playings!
Rich then called on Michael Fisher fifth and the second IUFB was a home theater system (Amber).
Since Michael was over by a buck, Edward played Ten Chances for an air purifier (Brandi), a mower (Brandi) and a Jeep Compass (Fairly loaded)(Lanisha).
POSSIBLE NUMBERS IN PRICE OF AIR PURIFIER: 0, 5 & 6
1. $65- INCORRECT
2. $50- CORRECT
POSSIBLE NUMBERS IN PRICE OF MOWER: 0, 7, 8 & 9
3. $879- OOPS
4. $790- INCORRECT
5. $798- NO WAY
6. $870- NO
7. $890- NO
8. $980- RIGHT
NUMBERS IN PRICE OF JEEP: 0, 2, 3, 4 & 6
9. $24,360- NO
10. $23,640- LOSS
ARP of the Jeep was $24,630; paint/fabric protection on Jeep Compasses is $300. If Edward had not made those two stupid guesses on the mower, he might've very well won that Jeep.
Sixth was Alice Baumeister and the third IUFB was a fireplace (Lanisha).
Alice played the suddenly frequently-played Pick a Number for a 46" LCD TV (Amber). Board:
$ 2 8 _ 9
NUMBERS AVAILABLE: 1, 6 & 9
She went with $2,869...
$ 2 8 6 9
...the repeat number trick strikes again in this game, because the ARP was $2,899.
SHOWCASE SHOWDOWN #1:
Alice ($799): 45 + 30 = $.75
Edward ($1,929): $.95
Marissa ($12,768): 35 + 65 = WINS $1,000 AND SHOWCASE BERTH!
Did Marissa increase her cash total to either $21,000 or $36,000 in her Bonus Spin...not with 55 cents.
Next to leave his seat was Richard Vaghy and the next IUFB was camping equipment (Brandi).
Richard played Switch? for an Aico dinette marked at $3,479 (Lanisha) and an iMac computer system marked at $2,729 (Amber). He left the prices as they were...and won!
Esther Scagl then plugged in that hot red spot on Contestant's Row and the next IUFB was golf clubs (Brandi & Lanisha).
Michael, a pastor, played Dice Game for a Ford Fusion (Std., AT, SYNC/Mirror, Assist)(Amber; Brandi & Lanisha brought out the dice table). First number was 2.
Second number rolled: 5- NO; LOWER
Third number rolled: 3- NO; HIGHER
Fourth number rolled: 4- NO; HIGHER
Last number rolled: 5- RIGHT
Second number was 2. Third number was...6. And the fourth number was...a 1, meaning Dice Game's winning streak is now history at 6. ARP: $22,615.
The day's last called on player was Kristin Bader and the final IUFB was four pairs of boots. Either Alison, Gregory or both would be heading to the First Four Breakfast Club.
TODAY'S FIRST FOUR BREAKFAST CLUB MEMBER: Gregory
Alison finally got out of Contestant's Row and played Side By Side for a Wurlitzer jukebox (Brandi & Lanisha). Board:
Did she know it was $8,995 to win...yup!
For the second straight week, at least one episode has none of its Pricing Games being played on the turntable.
My lineup today:
2. Grand Game
3. Ten Chances
4. Pick a Number
5. Side By Side
6. Dice Game
SHOWCASE SHOWDOWN #2:
