"Bullrun" 4/16

After this week, only one stage will be left before we go to the $200,000 finals.

STARTING POINT: Show Low, AZ
MIDWAY MARK: Petrified Forest National Park
PRE-CHECKPOINT SPOT: Winslow, AZ
CHECKPOINT #8: County Fairgrounds in Flagstaff, AZ

Team Corvette has the early lead despite making a wrong turn somewhere.

Midway in this stage, Team Shelby decided to spend about $20 on what they hoped would be a series of useful road maps. Meanwhile, Team Corvette gets lost for the second time this week.

Late in the stage, Team Avalanche holds up a sign asking unsuspecting cars to try and set up a roadblock for Team Corvette, who just re-took the lead.

The winners this week with a total time of 1 hour and 56 minutes, and winning by two minutes, are...

...Team Corvette! That makes them the season's first three-time winners! Finishing dead last with a time of 2 hours and 11 minutes...

...the Lexus ladies. Definitely joining them because they finished next-to-last, with a time of 2 hours and nine minutes...

...Team Shelby. That's their second Elimination Challenge appearance this season. And Team Corvette then decides that...

...Team Avalanche is headed to their fifth challenge! For the record, they finished second this stage with a time of 1 hour and 58 minutes. Team VW, the only other team definitely safe this week, finished this stage third in 2 hours and seven minutes.

ELIMINATION CHALLENGE #8: Each team must race through three targets in a designated order; on each one, they must brake or reverse their car to knock the target down with one of their car's panels. Penalties will be assessed for hitting targets incorrectly as well as taking out any central course markers.

The order:

1. Team Avalanche
2. Team Lexus
3. Team Shelby

The winners are...

...despite a five-second penalty during their run, Team Avalanche for the fourth time! But leaving us tonight with a time of 59.4 are...

Team Lexus
Team Shelby

...Team Lexus. Too bad. Team Shelby's challenge time this week was 35.9. As a result, no female contestants remain this season.
