COACH: Joe Avezzano
Former football player Nate Newton served as the host's assistant.
Evaluation Drill: In "Gunned Down", each player had a chance to be the Gunner in a punt return drill.
Conditioning Test: Everybody had to run down the entire football field (110 yards worth) within 17 seconds. Let's show the times for the first two heats:
Heat 1: 14 seconds
Heat 2: 16 seconds
They ran up and down the field a total of 18 times, a total of 1,980 yards. Montrell Jones threw up in the middle of all that.
DECISION DRILL: Everybody now had to do the 40-yard dash. Afterwards, the coaches and the hosts looked over everybody's progress and decided which player would be cut.
Afterwards, everybody went to the Cotton Bowl's film room and in came former Cowboys receiver Drew Pearson to do a speech.
Then, after Michael and the coaches reviewed everybody's progress while viewing the tape in the war room, Nate was then asked to bring in to the war room the the week's three worst players- Stephen Andrews, Speedy Gonzalez & Montrell Jones. The first guy ever to be cut on this show turns out to be...
...Stephen Andrews. Montrell Jones escaped elimination despite the fact that he was overweight.
