Jeopardy!: Chris Hernandez is back after the Fourth of July weekend to defend his title for the first time against:

Joe Webb (St. Louis)- American Literature doctoral student
Jessica Harry (originally from Jackson, WI)- Attorney

The week's first set of categories:

JAMES BOND
DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER
MOONRAKER
A QUANTUM OF SHOELACE
DOCTOR, NO
4 I'S ONLY

We start the week with a 007-themed board. When we go to break, Hernandez leads with $2,800, while Harry has $1,800 and Webb's $600 in the hole. Shortly afterwards, Webb finds the Daily Double under the $400 James Bond clue with -$200; Hernandez's down to $2,600 and Harry's up to $2,000. For $1,000, here's the clue:

This title was a reference to Sean Connery's 1971 insistence that he'd played Bond for the last time.

He blanks out- it was "Never Say Ever, Again", so his debt multiplies by six (-$1,200). Time runs out before the $1,000 Moonraker clue can be played, but Harry's now ahead of the champ, $5,000-$4,800.

ATTEMPTED LACH TRASH: $1,600
UNATTEMPTED LACH TRASH: $2,800
TOTAL LACH TRASH: $4,400

POET-TREE
RHYME TIME

Webb's doing a lot better early on this round, as by the time he finds the round's first DD under the $1,600 Poet-Tree clue, he has $5,200 and a chance to take the lead; the champ leads with $9,200 and Harry has $7,800. His wager is four large. To tie the game:

In a famous ode, Keats called this bird "light-winged dryad of the trees".

"What is a nightingale?"...just tied the game at $9,200 apiece! As it turns out, he ends up finding them all- he spots the last one under the $2,000 Order in the Supreme Court clue with $11,200. At this moment, he's $400 off Hernandez and the lead once again; Harry has $8,600. His last DD wager is $1,200. For the lead back:

One of the few decisions made in the summer was in the case United States vs. this person in 1974.

"Who is Richard Nixon?"...he's the leader once again with $12,400!

DJ! LACH TRASH (all unattempted): $4,400

SCORES AFTER DOUBLE JEOPARDY!:

Chris: $14,400
Jessica: $11,000
Joe: $16,400

CORYAT SCORES:

Chris: $14,400
Jessica: $11,000
Joe: $15,800

Great game to start the week.

FJ! CATEGORY: Napoleon.

Napoleon died before some of his officers could sneak him to this U.S. state where his death mask now resides.

Jessica Harry wrote down "What is Louisiana?"...she came up with the right state! That's worth $4,000 to her, giving her 15 grand. Chris Hernandez...also has that state and risked everything but a buck, taking him to $28,799. Joe Webb...is right also and with a $12,401 wager, he completes the comeback win in a nice way with the Norma Brown Jackpot plus a buck ($28,801)! Hernandez leaves with 25 grand.
