LMaD: A new deal's beginning this morning called the "Let's Make a Deal News Network"! First, Alisa hears from Jonathan Mangum that behind Curtain #2 is something hot air-related that at least three people can handle. After turning down $500 & $700, she wins...a California Wine Country getaway (includes a Pechanga Resort & Casino hot air balloon ride) worth $4,102. The second designated co-anchor is Jarrett, who finds out from Tiffany Coyne that inside the silver small box in front of Curtain #2 is a high-flying kind of prize. He immediately gives this back for $600...a fleet of paper airplanes! Finally, Kathleen, a U.S. Army representative from Hemet, CA, gets word of somebody committing a crime behind Curtain #1 and trying to escape from that area. Her offers are $800, a C-note, $1,200, $1.5K & $1,600, but she came here to win big, so she's going all the way...and for now, she won't be giving me any push-ups, because she's won a DEALER'S DELIGHT- the Chevrolet Aveo5! PERFECT DEAL!

We then move right on to Cristal & Steven (dressed as a jigsaw puzzle) playing Panic Button for at least:

Curtain #1: Stainless-steel dishwasher & range ($3,048)
Curtain #2: Bedroom ($4,394)
Curtain #3: Jacuzzi J210, Sunlighten sauna & a boombox w/ an iPod Nano ($8,448)

1. #2- DUD
2. #5- DUD
3. #1- SPA/SAUNA PACKAGE

They can stop with $7,442 in prizes or risk them for a chance at the prize package they just lost out on & the $1K bonus...they're pressing on.

BONUS: B- WINS $16,890 IN CASH & PRIZES; PERFECT DEAL #2!

The next three contestants are Valerie (dressed as a bunch of flowers), Kenny (dressed as a box of Brady O's) & Ashley (dressed as a bee). They get to choose from one of three silver envelopes, and they have a buck, $20 & $100 to start.

Valerie: $20
Kenny: $100
Ashley: BUCK

Ashley's Round: Big Box
ENVELOPE: $700 ($701 total)
BOX: Samsung 40" LCD HDTV w/ Hewlett-Packard wireless connectivity device & ASUS laptop ($2,998)

Valerie's Round: Silver small box (Jonathan)
ENVELOPE: $700 ($720)
BOX: Tory Burch red hobo bag & Mon Cheri white gold diamond ring ($3,747)

We'll get back to Kenny towards the end of this exciting episode.

In the meantime, Rhonda (who's designated a Tootie) will go on the Small Box Shopping Spree. Her opening bankroll's a grand, but she does NOT buy any of those boxes w/ it. That will cost her at least the following:

Red ($200): iPad & iPhone4 ($1,528)
Green ($300): Trip to Yosemite National Park ($6,385)
Blue ($500): Beef jerky jewelry

But she does buy Curtain #1 for her one large...she ZONKS OUT OF THE GAME FOR GOOD w/ a gondola ride.

Hoping to have better luck is Deborah (dressed as a kitty cat), who's playing some Charades. A few other traders will choose the order of the three words that Deborah will attempt to guess in this part of the deal at $500 apiece; she gets that much money to begin with (after each of the performers do a charade, they're awarded a $100 bill).

1. Horn (chosen by Eric, dressed as a leprechaun)- HORN (she originally said trumpet)($1K)
2. Mirror (chosen by Cindy)- MIRROR ($1.5K)
3. Brake (chosen by Stephanie)- BRAKE ($2K)

Those three words also serve as her clue for her Big Risk prize behind Curtain #2. After some thought, she forfeits the two big ones for...ANOTHER DEALER'S DELIGHT- the Toyota Yaris 5-Door; PERFECT DEAL #3!

We're back to Kenny, and Curtain #3's offered to him for all of his dough. Since his wife wants a car so badly, he takes the curtain...he should've been in the Charades Deal, because he gets hit by a giant paper airplane. He misses out on $3,800 (including the $3,700 check inside his envelope).

THE BIG DEAL: Since none of this morning's top three want to trade in what they've got, Alisa will rip up her trip tickets for maybe a chance to win at least a much nicer vacation as part of the Big Deal of the Day worth $24,177. She picks Door #1 because UCLA Bruins like her are #1. Behind the other end of the spectrum was a Suzuki ATV & a Kawasaki dirt bike worth $7,398. Now, up until this point, we've given away $54,668 in cash & merchandise. If she wins this Big Deal, we'll set a new all-time one-day record of $78,845...

...YES!!!!!!! Door #2 had a Prestige stainless-steel BBQ & the $500 Omaha Steaks gift card, which was a cooking prize package worth $3,199. And now, let's see what she's won...she has indeed won a getaway to a much nicer place- the Hotel Plaza Athenee in Paris! In addition, she's won three pieces of Landor & Hawa luggage & $5K spending money!

"Deal" definitely made the most of their two-day week, because the grand total during this stretch is $143,822!!!!

WoF: We're on the Cruise Week set tonight, where the sole $100,000 win to date this season took place. And the first Tuesday Toss-Up category is, you guessed it, On the Map:

N _ R W _ _ / A N D

_ _ E _ _ _

J.D. solves NORWAY AND SWEDEN for $1,000. Let's interview our contestants:

J.D. Dinnywinzer (Maywood, CA)- A community volunteer who's taking courses in order to become a future nurse; she volunteered for a decade for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees
Dan Metz (Milwaukee)- School engineer
Dawn Bouchet (Overland Park, KS)- A human resources worker/poker player whose husband's name is Bobby (!)

$2,000 Toss-Up category is People:

_ _ _ _ N D _ D

F _ M I _ _

Dan knows of his EXTENDED FAMILY for the money and the right to start the first main round.

Eggland's Best Jackpot Round category is Phrase and out on the wheel now is a $7.5K trip to Paris from Virtual Tourist.com. He starts off by calling a $2.5K S and buying two E's & I's, then he calls three T's for that Wild Card, three N's for another $2,400 and buys two O's. We have showing at this point...

I T ' S / T _ E

O N _ _ / _ _ _ E

I N / T O _ N

...he says "IT'S THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN" for another $4,150 and $6,150 total.

PERFECT ROUND
LEFT BEHIND IN JACKPOT: $8,300

Tonight's Prize Puzzle Round topic is Food & Drink. First, Dawn calls a $600 T, a $500 S and an R for the Million Dollar Wedge, then she buys three E's & an A, calls a $400 N, purchases two I's, lights up a $500 P, but she then goes Bankrupt in between $600 & $900 to lose the MDW & $1,250. Secondly, J.D. calls four C's for $1,200 and...

S _ I C E / _ _

C _ C _ N _ T

C R E A _ / P I E

...she'll be eating a SLICE OF COCONUT CREAM PIE during her Hawaiian retreat at The Fairmont Orchid worth $9,958, for a new total of $12,158 in cash & trip.

SOLE BANKRUPT: Dawn

TONIGHT'S SPIN ID: SR5852979 (Susan R. from New York)

(Just before the second commerical break, the hosts of "La Reuda de La Fortuna" from Panama say hello to us, which has a logo similiar to the one we had during most of last season; we also see it on the new video games.)

Wellgate Mystery Round subject is Same Name. J.D. leads off by calling two I's while on Free Play & two N's while on the Mystery Wedge in between $300 & $800 and flips it over...but she Bankrupts; I love her reaction, though. Second, Dan calls a couple of G's for $1,400, buys an E, but he then calls the first dud of the night in R. Third, Dawn hits the other regular Bankrupt; that's her second one tonight. Back to J.D., she calls a $600 L & purchases a trio of A's, followed by a $7K pair of C's, but she then Bankrupts out for the second time this round in between $600 & $900 to give back $7,350. After Dan lights an $800 S & buys the last vowel of O, he duds out w/ M. Dawn then calls the twin T's for $800 & the remaining B for an extra five bills...

N I C O L A S / &

B A T T I N G

C A G E

...and she solves NICOLAS & BATTING CAGE for her first $1,300.

DUDS (both by Dan): $600 M, $800 R
BANKRUPTS: 3 (two by J.D., Dawn)

Things is the last TU topic:

C R O _ S _ O R D

_ L _ E S

Dan's two letters off w/ CROSSWORD FLIES.

C R O _ S _ O R D

C L _ E S

J.D. steals those CROSSWORD CLUES to increase her leading margin w/ a new score of $15,158. Dan's silly missolve may have hurt his chances of coming back to win this maingame.

Next is an Around the House puzzle. After a free O for J.D. when she hits FP for the second time this evening, here comes a trio of N's for $900. She then buys pairs of A's & I's, calls the only dud vowel on the board (E) while on FP, but then D for another dud. After Dan lights a $450 S, we play the rest of this round in Last Chance Mode...

I N S _ _ _ _ _ I O N

_ A N _ A _

...and the remaining consonants will each pay $1,600. After Dawn has an R lit...

I N S T R _ _ T I O N

_ A N _ A _

...she doesn't need an INSTRUCTION MANUAL in solving this puzzle for a final last-place total of $2,900. Dan leaves w/ $6,150 & J.D. wins w/ $15,158 in cash & Hawaii.

So far, $24,208 in cash & vacation has been won tonight.

DUDS (both called by J.D. before big bell): $500 D, E

TONIGHT'S BANKRUPT TRASH (excluding MDW): $10,600

Maxwell House Big Money Round: I wonder how J.D. will react if she wins some really big money and/or the Beetle. She spins the solo star and the category is Person. Starting with:

_ _ R _ E R

_ _ _ _ R _ E N _

She calls B, P, M & O and gets...

_ O R M E R

B O _ _ R _ E N _

...I don't know who her FORMER BOYFRIEND is (if she does have one), but I do know that she's 30 grand richer, so she heads off to Hawaii's Big Island with total winnings of $45,158!

We then see some full-screen clips of several of the foreign hosts at the end (Bulgaria, France, Spain, Brazil, Sweden & Panama, in that order).

J!: Charlie Penrod, get ready to defend your title against:

Allie Hagan (D.C.)- Education policy consultant
Tom Zamojcin (Phoenixville, PA)- Digital marketing manager

Tonight's first six categories:

NAME THAT COUNTRY
SONGS ON TV SHOWS
"G"ROCERIES
DOWN ON THE FARM
MASSACHUSETTS STATE SYMBOLS
PEACEFUL, EASY FEELING

In four clues, Penrod finds the Daily Double under the middle Name That Country clue w/ $400, which is twice as much as his two opponents both have this early in the game. His $1K clue is:

Barren & arid, this troubled country hasn't had a real working central government since 1991.

"What is Somalia?"...correct for $1,400. But he then loses $800 of that figure right back to an incorrect response on the next clue in that category, which also turns out to be the night's first Triple Stumper. When we have to take our first commercial break, Hagan's slightly in Lock Game Territory w/ $3,800 and leads Zamojcin by two C-notes; Penrod's currently in third w/ $600.

ATTEMPTED LACH TRASH: $1,400
UNATTEMPTED LACH TRASH: $4K
TOTAL LACH TRASH: $5,400

Scores Following First Round:

Charlie: $1,200
Tom: $6K
Allie: $5K

Double Jeopardy! board:

OPERA
CELEBRITY AUTHORS
"P.G."
WOOD HOUSE
THE 1800s
NEWS FROM THE EQUATOR (mostly Clue Crew clues)

Zamojcin finds the first of this round's two DDs attached to the $1,600 clue regarding the 1800s; w/ $9,600, he's only $600 ahead of Hagan for the lead, and Penrod's a respectable third at $5,200. His wager's $2K, so he must be right on this to keep the lead:

Britain might have said, "Put that in your pipe & smoke it" after winning the first of these wars against China in 1842.

"What are the Tobacco Wars?"...no, sir. They were the Opium Wars, so he's back to second place w/ $7,600. But by the time he finds the other one underneath the $800 Wood House clue, he's back ahead of Hagan $10,800-$10,600, w/ Penrod at $8K. He next risks a thou.

It's the Disneyland land w/ the Thunder Ranch log cabin.

"What is Frontierland?"...right to inch up to $11,800!

DJ! LACH TRASH (all unattempted): $11,600

Post DJ! Scores:

Charlie: $8K
Tom: $11,800
Allie: $12,200

CORYAT SCORES:

Charlie: $7,600
Tom: $13,600
Allie: $12,200

FJ! CATEGORY: Sports.

In action since 1917, this sports franchise is now largely owned by the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan.

Charlie Penrod wrote down as his response "Who is the Toronto Maple Leafs?"...I thought of the Montreal Canadiens, but he's right for a DOUBLER to $16K! Tom Zamojcin...is also right and adds $11K, finishing him at $22,800. Allie Hagan...locked in another Toronto sports franchise in the Blue Jays and made the obvious $11,401 wager, making Zamojcin the new champ! Penrod leaves w/ $19K.

Carie (dressed as a witch) gets to play the Match the Prize Deal for either a trip to San Diego ($2,142) or an eight-day Mediterranean Cruise ($9,639; both trips behind Curtain #2); winning either trip also pays $1K in spending money.

1. #4- SAN DIEGO

The Sure Thing Jackpot behind Curtain #1 consists of some kitchen appliances (including a stainless-steel dishwasher & refrigerator) worth $2,063...and that's what she quits with.

2. #1- SAN DIEGO

Nedra next hears the following entry from Wayne's Diary courtesy of Jonathan Mangum that behind Curtain #3 is everything Wayne Brady needed to relax. Her base offer is $600, but after that's raised in $100 increments to $900, she bails...that costs her the patio furniture/sauna package ($7,446). The diary Lance (dressed as Hansel) hears from will be Jonathan's, and that entry says that behind Curtain #2 is something uniquely entertaining. He's so NOT interested that he sells the middle curtain right back for $700...lurking back there was the ZONK Movie of the Week called "It's a Wonderful ZONK"!

The next deal of the day involves these four traders- Laura (who's an out-of-this world space girl), Matthew (who's wearing a red dress shirt w/ a black tie), Labridgette & Martina (dressed as a red ladybug).

Silver small box (Tiffany): Matthew- Broken laptop; ELIMINATED
Big Box: Labridgette- Pair of VESPAs ($7,038)

Curtain #2: Martina (her offers were $600, $700, $800, $900, a grand, $1,200 & $1,400): DEALER'S DELIGHT- 2011 KIA Soul+

Last on today's trader list is Shayon (who's wearing a black Martial Arts suit). He can either have the three items behind Curtain #3 or the three thousand items in the silver small box (Jonathan). His choice is the curtain furthest to the right...there were 3K DIMES in the box, so he just bought for $300 an HDTV trio worth $3,149- PERFECT DEAL!

THE BIG DEAL: Labridgette has a chance to win that Volvo C30 after forfeiting those VESPAs. She thinks it's behind Door #3 again because that stands for her lucky number...WIN!

Door #1: $6,310
Door #2: Home gym ($2,579)

That means a grand total of $64,977 in cash & prizes were awarded this morning, which is THE HIGHEST DAILY TOTAL THIS YEAR!!!!

Pictureka!: Their holiday break's done for now, so here come two more teams:

Amanda: Something w/ seeds- Corn on the cob (420)
Darryl: A person w/ stubble- Bad breath man (490)
Austin: Something w/ a windshield- Top down tweedle (570; includes an AMAZING last-second object throw!)

The GT needs to match their performance in this round of play to win...but their last-second toss on the final object is WIDE RIGHT.

PENGUIN PRIZE HUNT: After Austin and the rest of the team sees an instant replay of his game-winning shot, they get a chance at a trip to the Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs. They use their timeout w/ :14 left, are incorrect on Window #7, but do manage to capture #1, #2, #4, #5 & #9...and Austin comes through again, this time w/ the first one of #2 in just six seconds! He didn't think there was a chance the WIN card would be there!

WoF: This is the first extra episodes week of the season (which therefore means Rich Fields is relegated to post-production duty for the second week in a row), and instead of "America's Game", it's titled "Wheel Around the World". In the intro, we see some clips of foreign versions of the show spinning around just before Pat Sajak drops his luggage next to Vanna White in Cairo; we then see the show's logo on one piece of luggage. We're on the World Class Spas set, where the two Million Dollar Bonus Rounds so far this season have taken place (and they occurred back-to-back).

The first Toss-Up category is fittingly on the Map:

V _ _ _ _ E

_ _ _ _ _

Tiffany quickly solves VENICE, ITALY. Let's now go down the line in meeting our contestants, all of whose names start with a popular letter of the English alphabet:

Tiffany Thompkins (Kansas City, MO)- International House of Prayer missionary
Tamara Stevenson (Raleigh, NC)- A technical sales/crystal growth engineer who also does some acting in community theater and has a twin sister
Thom Bartek (Milwaukee)- Executive team leader for a retailer

$2,000 Toss-Up category is Living Things:

_ I G _ R

_ U B S

Tiffany takes care of these TIGER CUBS to triple her money.

Eggland's Bext Jackpot Round category is What Are You Doing? (featuring a globe category wipe); each of this week's featured trips will be to a foreign place that has their own version of the show and will be introduced by the host (s) there; in tonight's case, it's to Madrid, Spain from Virtual Tourist.com worth $7,500. Tiffany first calls an N for the Wild Card and two G's for $5,000, but thanks in part to Pat not asking her about it, she doesn't use her WC at this point in time. Anyway, she next buys two I's, three A's, calls four T's for another 10 grand (she again declines the WC chance because Pat doesn't prompt her), purchases an O, lights up a $600 S & two R's for another $1,200. After buying three E's to clean out the vowels and putting up a $500 P, we have...

T R _ I N G

T O / _ E E P / A

S T R A I G _ T / _ A _ E

...it was almost impossible for anybody playing this game or watching along in TRYING TO KEEP A STRAIGHT FACE during this round of play, espescially when she solves this puzzle for another $16,300 & $19,300 total!

PERFECT ROUND
LEFT BEHIND IN JACKPOT: $11,700

(Just before the first commercial break, the Swedish hosts say hi.)

The Before & After Round first sees Tamara calling an S for the Million Dollar Wedge, two T's for the eBags.com gift tag and four R's for $1,200, then she buys five E's & three A's before Bankrupting in between $600 & $900 to lose the MDW & $1,700 in cash & gift certificate. Secondly, Thom calls all of the remaining vowels while hitting Free Play back-to-back-to-back (two I's, a U & four O's), followed by three B's for another $1,800, a $600 V and G & four L's for another $2,400 (he hits the same $600 wedge in between FP & Bankrupt four straight times). Here's the big board this time...

L I _ E / A

B R I _ G E / O V E R

T R O U B L E _ / _ A T E R

B A L L O O _ S

...him getting through this puzzle for $5,400 was LIKE A BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER BALLOONS.

SOLE BANKRUPT: Tamara

Wellgate For Women Mystery/Prize Puzzle Round subject is my favorite, Rhyme Time. Still in command, Thom starts off w/ three N's for $10.5K and the buying of three E's, but he then spins the other regular Bankrupt to lose the $10,250 remainder. Ouch. Second, Tiffany calls an S for the trip & three T's for $900, which is followed by her buying three I's & a couple of O's, but she then Bankrupts next to the top dollar spot to lose the WC for good plus $7,900 in cash & Spain; now, she's really wishing she had used it during her dominating first round. Third, Tamara calls a D while on the Mystery Wedge next to the former MDW & flips it over...but she gets her second Bankrupt of the night. Afterwards, Thom calls an $800 R, buys a trio of A's to close the vowel department and lights an $800 L before we see...

D E S T I N A T I O N

R E L A _ A T I O N

...and he gets DESTINATION RELAXATION for $1,350 more, as well as a trip to the Chaa Creek Resort in Belize worth $8,152, for a new second-place total of $14,902 in cash & vacation.

BANKRUPTS: 3 (Everybody)

TONIGHT'S SPIN ID: KD7490834 (Kimberly D. from Colorado)

Closing out Monday's TUs is a regular Person:

S K I L _ _ D

_ _ A F T _ M _ N

Tiffany makes the careless mistake of ringing in w/ SKILLED CRAFTSMEN. That allows Tamara to steal SKILLED CRAFTSMAN and finally get off the zero mark.

After she calls triple S's for $1.5K to start the next round, the Last Chance Round topic's Phrase...

_ _ _ / _ _

_ _ S _ _ S S _ _ _

...and the remaining consonants are worth $1,550 a pop. After Tamara calls the last remaining consonant of C...

_ N D / O F

D _ S C _ S S _ _ N

...END OF DISCUSSION- she solves for an additional $7,700 and finishes w/ a good third-place cash total of $10,700! Thom leaves w/ $14,902 in cash & Belize and Tiffany's hung on w/ $19,300!

So far, $44,902 in cash & travel has been won on this Monday evening.

DUDS (after final bell): A (Tiffany), R (Thom), T (Tiffany)

TONIGHT'S BANKRUPT TRASH (excluding MDW & WC): $19,900 in cash & merchandise

Maxwell House Big Money Round: I'm not too confident in Tiffany Thompkins adding some more American money and/or the Mazda Miata, but let's see how it all works out. She spins the P and her category's thing. For starters:

_ _ E _ _ _ _ L

_ _ R _ _ L _

She calls H, D, M & A and adds the following to the gameboard...

_ H E _ _ _ A L

_ _ R M _ L A

...she and/or her cohorts might learn a CHEMICAL FORMULA or two while they look over all the specifics of this Mazda MX-5 Miata Grand Touring (Std., AT, HTop) worth $30,250! With the $5K bonus, they're going home w/ $54,550 in cash & sportscar!

Vanna's then quizzed by Pat about three simple chemical formulas at the end. She knows that H2O stands for water, O stands for oxygen, but she gets stumped by the last one of NaCO, which stands for sodium chloride (aka table salt).

J!: Judy Shewmake's repeat bid will go through these people this evening:

Charlie Penrod (Natchitoches, LA)- Assistant professor of law
Kristin Anderson (Seattle)- Director of communications

The first six categories this week are:

COUNTRY NICKNAMES
HOLLYWOOD UGLY

2010 20TH ANNIVERSARIES
THAT'S GREAT, PETER THE GREAT!

RHYMIN' FRED
A MURDER INVESTIGATIONS (all clues presented by the star of "The Closer", Kyra Sedgwick)

Penrod finds the Daily Double on the fifth clue of this episode under the middle spot on Country Nicknames w/ a grand; Shewmake has $200. He makes this a $2K True DD attempt on the following clue:

Italy is "Lo Stivale", meaning this.

"What is the boot?"...if he continue to perform this way on the program, don't expect that to be given to him anytime soon, because he's right for the doubler! He goes on to SWEEP that category to make his score $3,800! That's what he's got at the first break; Anderson's in second w/ $1,200 & Shewmake's $200 in the hole. Time runs out before we can get to the $400 Rhymin' Fred answer.

ATTEMPTED LACH TRASH: $1,800
UNATTEMPTED LACH TRASH: $2,600
TOTAL LACH TRASH: $4,400

Double Jeopardy! Topics:

SHAKESPEARIAN PORTMANTEAU
CELEBRITY MATCHES
MEMORABLE CONCERTS
10-LETTER WORDS
GUILDING
THE LILY

For the first time this season, a DD is picked off from the top line; in this case, Penrod hits it on 10-Letter Words. He leads Anderson $7K-$3,800, while Shewmake's $800 from the end of the last round is now a negative figure. The wager from him this time is 10 tmes the face value of the clue ($4K). Thus, to move into Lock Game Territory or fall $800 out of the lead, here's the clue for him:

Jay M. Arena, director of the Duke Poison Control Center, devised this type of bottle cap.

"What is childproof?"...that's it to put him in LGT for now w/ $11K! But the last DD of the night goes unclaimed from one of the last three Memorable Concerts clues.

ATTEMPTED LACH TRASH: $5,200
UNATTEMPTED LACH TRASH: $4,400
TOTAL DJ! LACH TRASH: $9,600

These two cities in the Southeast & Southwest were the only two Confederate state capitals NOT captured by Union forces.

JUDY:
Response:
"What are Austin and Tallahassee?"
Wager: ALL-IN

Final score: $8,800

Kristin Anderson...put Baton Rouge in place of Austin and falls to $400, so Judy Shewmake will leave w/ $22,801. Charlie Penrod...is right about this clue and takes $17K into tomorrow.
