"The Taste" 2/12

Team Taste Test #2: Food/wine pairings featuring Alamos Malbec & a dish including one of five secret ingredients. Each mentor had their own ingredient list.
GJ: David Kinch & Andre Mack

Nigella: Calf's liver, Harissa, couscous, ground lamb & lamb sausage
Malarkey: Figs, almonds, bone marrow, Filet Mignon & sea salt
Anthony: Beefsteak, chorizo, beef tongue, lamb kidneys & lamb chops
Ludo: White miso, bonito flakes, charcoal, smoked eel & cassis

Entries:
Erika: Lamb chop w/ goat cheese ball
Gregg: Bonito-crusted short rib- IMMUNITY (& like last week, the GJ joined the winning team)
Uno: Thai beef salad
Adam: Squab w/ red wine reduction

Solo TT #2: More food/wine pairings, but w/ one of four different wine styles- German Riesling, California Chardonnay, French Cotes du Rhone & Italian Barolo.

Ninamarie: Braised pork shoulder w/ Barolo
Jeff: Seared sole w/ sweet pea puree & Chardonnay
Lauren: Steak & polenta w/ Cotes du Rhone
Khristianne: Barolo-braised duck
Shawn: Seabass w/ goat cheese ravioli & Chardonnay
